Get to know me
I first became interested in shooting as a boy working on my uncle’s farm and racing stables during the holidays.
Gamekeeping, shooting and the life style of the country has always been my passion, even when I worked in London in desktop publishing; I grew up in the countryside, and as I got older moved further and further away from London to rekindle that passion. Finally starting work for a commercial game farm and assisting the estate keeper, I also became involved in agriculture rearing beef, pork, lamb, milking cows and sheep.
All through these years my passion and knowledge grew, instructing in the field, at various estates and seeing the enjoyment people gain from successes, I started working for private clients whilst keepering part time. It was then a friend suggested I take some qualifications and gain my insurance as he felt I had a nice way and relaxed method of teaching clients.
I enjoy teaching both game and clay shooting, either at a ground or in the field. Over the last few years I set up Clay to Game to help market my passion and knowledge in seeing people grow and enjoy all aspects of the sport. I teach groups of children, individual clients, work on corporate and charity events, stag and hen parties, I have worked on simulated days at various locations, I work for local shooting grounds locally to where I live in Dorset, I also work for the main schools in England, such as RBSS, EJ Churchill, West London.
I am an Associate of APSI and attended the APSI Advanced Instructor and Gunfit coruses, CPSA Instructor and CPSA Safety Officer.
Clients seem to like my passion, my relaxed and very patient manor, the way in which I strive to find the best way to impart my knowledge to the clients so they get the best experience of the sport. They like the fact I keep it light, and never start an assessment of things with a negative, I do not clock watch as my time is there’s completely for that lesson and lastly they always feel they walk away with more of an understanding and a better knowledge than when they came, and there question or problem has been resolved.
